Born in Alton on November 6, 1974, David was a chemical operator for Eastman Chemical. He coached numerous ball teams between 1994 to 2015. He touched many lives through his passion and generations of coaching; especially his son, Randy.He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie; son, Randy - 22; daughter, Sidney - 11; his mother and father, Ella and Don Walker; two brothers, Troy and Anthony; father and mother-in-law, Don and Cathy Nevels; brother-in-law, Shawn Nevels; niece, Dylan Nevels; aunts Karen Allen and Nancy Ufert-Fairless; step-mother, Gale Ufert; and many cousins.He was preceded in death by his Father, Fred Ufert, III. and grandparents, Fred and Josephine Ufert and Jack and Dorthy Holman.Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where services will be conducted at 10 am Friday. Father Mike Lydon will officiate.Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to the Sidney Ufert College Fund established at 1st MidAmerica Credit Union.

Yarborough, 74, passed away 9:53 am, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital.Born July 29, 1944 in Alton, he was the son of William and Sarah (Cox) Yarborough.He had been a mill rite for Alton Box Board and later a heavy equipment mechanic before retiring in 2006.On March 21, 1964 in Wood River, he married Sue J. Hoots. She died December 23, 2015.Surviving are a daughter, Tami (Bill) Glover of Roxana; grandson, Tanner Glover; step-grandson, Brent Glover; brother, Mike Yarborough of East Alton; sister, Judy Clark of Godfrey; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.His parents; wife; two brothers, William "Butch" Yarborough, Donald "Donnie" Yarborough; and sisters, Marge O'Dell and Shirley Blasa preceded in death.Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 11 am, Monday, May 20 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Dan Smith will officiate.Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to 5 A's Animal Shelter.

Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Life Care Center of Florissant in Missouri. She was born and raised in South Roxana, a daughter of the late Dale and Lucille (Christy) Hayes. She had worked for the Roxana School District with many years of dedicated service in the school cafeteria. She cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with them. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberely and Charles Herrmann Jr. of Valrico, Florida and Kathy and Michael Kufskie of Maryville; her loving friend of 40 years, James “Richard” Parker of Wood River; three grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy Aaron and Danielle Herrmann, Ashley Nicole and Cory Herrmann and Ava Marie Kufskie; two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Benjamin Herrmann; a sister, Martha Bates of Indiana; a brother, Dale “Ted” Hayes Jr. of South Roxana; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shelba McEuen and Katherine Whitaker and three brothers, Jack Hayes, Robert “Butch” Hayes and Ricky Hayes.In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Robert Johnson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.
